Every year, thousands of people gather on Marco Island to kick off the most wonderful time of year with the annual tree lighting ceremony. This event is especially special because it marks the beginning of the holiday season in Marco Island and draws families from near and far.
On December 15th, 2022, locals and visitors alike will be able to celebrate the start of their Christmas festivities with a traditional ceremony that shines brighter than any star in the sky. The evening will begin with a fantastic parade down San Marco Road featuring carolers singing your favorite holiday songs along with floats decked out in festive lights, decorations, and garlands galore! As you make your way down Collier Blvd for this amazing display of pageantry, keep your eyes peeled for Santa Claus himself as he rides atop his magnificent sleigh.
Once everyone has made their way to Veterans Community Park at 6:30 pm sharp, attendees can witness Town officials turn on thousands upon thousands of twinkling lights displayed throughout park grounds as well as adorning several large trees appointed around Veteran’s memorial plaques…a beautiful sight perfect for kicking off one's celebrations!
Children’s choirs join forces near center stage-belting out some classics tunes-drawing us back into those good ol' days spent making memories during Christmastime. Afterward, warm drinks are served amongst friends & family right there under whichever tall or short tree they'd like, giving many watching an opportunity to spark even greater conversations while taking breaks from further yuletide Beatz booming through speakers surrounding them all night long.
As Winterfest comes closer to its ultimate climax at 8:00 pm, don't forget that each guest should shoot away towards key areas downtown so they may be front row towards viewing fireworks once go time officially arrives, bringing about finales filled with splendor & awe! Before leaving, town officials also get waves from guests by appearing next to each lit-up tree, lighting an opportunity unseen anywhere else...
