Thanksgiving travel forecast: sunny & warm but rainy first

The tropics may be calm now that the official end of hurricane season is approaching, but don't let that fool you. Most of Florida is expected to see wet weather from Monday until Wednesday.

A disturbance is causing rain in Florida. It will continue to bring rain showers to the state until early this week.

Some areas could get 3 inches of rain in the next few days, while there will be some areas with higher localized amounts due to repeated downpours.

South West Florida could see a bit less than an inch.

Flights could get messy and driving conditions might not be so great either.

Beaches in areas that were affected by Hurricane Nicole such as Daytona Beach are in danger of more erosion if an onshore wind combined with rough surf and high tide.

It appears that this weekend is not a good time to get in the water with dangerous rip currents and rough surf

Florida should experience rain in the days before Thanksgiving Day. It is expected to last until then.

Showers may linger in some eastern areas, while scattered showers should end throughout the rest of the state.
