On Monday night Collier County residents & parents gathered to explore the growth of the area so that middle and high school students won't have to travel far from home.
Collier County Schools presented a plan to change the boundaries of their school district and what it would look like in the north part of the county. This means that students in middle school and high school would be impacted by this change.
Collier County is one of the fastest-growing counties in Florida, so a seventh high school will soon be opening in North Naples.
The opening of a new school can be a great opportunity for students that are unhappy at their current school. For example, freshmen right now at Gulf Coast High School would attend the new Aubrey Rogers High School, since the boundaries for Gulf Coast shift eastwards.
